The CEO of a large company always has a lot of responsibility in his charge. Furthermore, it is also important that your security is guaranteed.
In this regard, recent information indicates that Facebook spent no less than $23.4 million on the personal security of owner Mark Zuckerberg. And this value significantly outweighs the security costs of other technology executives.
A recent study carried out by Protocol found the expenses that companies have on security issues. And according to the results, in all, the expenses to ensure the safety of the executives of the big companies in Silicon Valley totals about 46 million dollars, just in the year 2020.
The data also indicates that, of that amount, a total of $23.4 million was spent on the personal safety of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. This amount is higher than the $20.4 million the company spent on the executive in 2019. This increase is attributed to new protocols related to the COVID-19 pandemic and additional protection during the election.
In this way, Zuckerberg was far ahead of other executives on the list, such as Jeff Bezos, who paid 1.6 million in personal security costs. And yet another proof of how Facebook cares about employee safety, company COO Sheryl Sandberg was second on the list, having spent $7.6 million on its security in 2020.
In total, the list of security expenses includes 11 executives. No. 3 is Google's Sundar Pichai, with $5.4 million in protection costs; John Zimmer of Lyft, with $2.06 million; Larry Ellison of Oracle, with $1.71 million; Evan Spiegel of Snap, with 1.67 million; Bezos, Marc Benioff, with $1.21 million; Dara Khosrowshashi of Uber, the CEO of Lyft and Tim Cook of Apple.
